Stories like this one changed the life of Bernd Rosemeyer.
He began looking after the streetchildren. In 1992 Bernd and his brother Werner Roesemeyer, founded an aid project for streetchildren of Fortaleza, Northeast Brazil. Less than three years later, two legal associations emerged out of this initiative:

„Der Kleine Nazareno e.V.“ & „Associacao Beneficente O Pequeno Nazareno“ (OPN) -The Little Nazareno Association

The German organisation is chaired by Werner Rosemeyer. The purpose of the organisation is to obtain the financial support necessary to maintain and extend the project in Brazil. Private donations, third world groups, religious associations, foundations, aid organisations and voluntary workers helped to make the organisation one of the most successful projects for streetchildren in Northeast Brazil. A network of independent support groups is extended and strengthened by the organisation on a continuous basis. However, the challenges remain: we want to continue our successful work in order to help even more children and on a long-term basis. This makes a multidimensional approach our principle.

OPN.

Our task is to bring boys under the age of 12 years from the streets.  90 % of all streetchildren below the age of 12 are boys. Our streetworkers help these kids on the streets and prepare them for a possible life at one of the farms of the Little Nazareno Association.
